Fiber Art by Laura Ambrosio

Laura and I have been friends for years. She’s one of the calmest, kindest and most open people I’ve met. Ever. Turns out, she’s also gifted. She began working in Fiber Art a few years ago and she’s become an instant sensation creating commissioned pieces for both consumers and commercial clients. We are lucky enough to own one of her first pieces and I cherish it. The nature of fibers is appealing to me but also her concepts. She’s got a timeless take on modern art often with a nod to nature and our piece is something I can get lost in.

Laura is also working on creating a natural retreat, stay tuned. She also makes time to gather flowers to make wine, collect avocado pits to dye fabrics and make clothes, spins her own wool yarn after collecting from a farm, all the while supporting her husband in his photography and plant goals and her two kids. Is she wonder woman? She’s tall enough. Hmmm. It’s like she’s tapped into a vein of all that’s good and following along on her adventures makes me feel like I’m doing good for myself and the world too.
