High-Rise Undies & Wide Strap Bra by ARQ
Soft, comfortable, no-ride underwear and bras in my favorite colors. I’ve worn these since having a baby and I love them. The bottoms are granny panties but they make me feel sexy-some kinda magic Portland voo-doo. ARQ is a woman owned/run company and the garments are sewn in the US by organic, recycled and/or deadstock materials. If you’re looking to support the movement toward all things good in fashion, start here. ARQ also encourages a healthy view of women’s bodies by choosing to work with models of all shapes, sizes and ages. Stretch marks, rolls, ribs, wrinkles, you’ll see them all. Again, all very good things.
My body had a hard time healing after the complicated delivery of our baby. I had surgeries and infections which continued for almost a year and was referred to a vaginal specialist. She was smart and wore cool sneakers. She helped change the way I thought about underwear. She asked if I was still wearing pads and I told her I was. She told me the plastic could be interfering with my healing and told me to nix them. She also asked if I had cotton underwear because the natural fibers would help me heal. It’s harder to find cotton underwear than I expected. I finally found a couple brands and tried them and ARQ was the best one. They make their undies with 92% organic cotton and 8% spandex. I’ve been wearing them for over three years now and they’re still amazing.
