Silk Dresses & Linen Shirt by Datura in Mallorca, Spain
I was flipping through a Milk Decoration Magazine last winter, to gather images for my dream board, when I came across Datura. It mentioned the designer using only natural materials and the clothing being designed in Mallorca, Spain and created in New York City. When I visited their website, I saw some of the most beautiful designs I’ve ever seen. Elegant, simple, minimal, and utterly gorgeous. I was so taken, I ordered the White Heavy Linen White Shirt, the Citric Orange Ava Dress, and the Red Kimono Robe Dress (and I NEVER wear red). I hoped to love one of the pieces-online orders are typically difficult for me as I’m quite particular and always have unreasonable expectations. I couldn’t believe when I tried on each piece and felt just as beautiful as the models looked on Datura’s website. Now, I’m hoping to eventually collect each and every design.
I adore receiving packages in the mail from Datura. The clothes are folded so beautifully in paper and I don’t think any of the pieces even had wrinkles. I knew they had to be magic. Datura also has a very special line where the fabric is created, sewn and washed all on the island, called the Terra Collection, making it one of the only brands I’ve found who is completely local. It’s worth noting that the Citric Orange Ava Dress is currently sold out, but, as I’ve followed Datura, I’ve noticed they restock current styles when possible. If you’re in love with the Ava dress, they just came out with an Ava in Ruby Red!
